Digital Empowerment Foundation, a Delhi based not-for-profit organisation was registered on December 2002, under the “Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860” to find solutions to bridge the digital divide. With no political affiliations, it was founded by Osama Manzar to uplift the downtrodden and to create economic and commercial viability using Information Communication and Technology as means. Technology inspires, but Content inspires more and is what ultimately matters in the long run. DEF has a mission to make India an information rich country and vis-à-vis enrich the world about India’s ancient knowledge, skill and its cultural diversity through the ICT route.
THE AMERICAN INDIA FOUNDATION TRUST
The American India Foundation (AIF) is a leading international development organization charged with the mission of accelerating social and economic change in India. By mobilizing people and resources across the United States, AIF has raised over $30 million since its inception in 2001. AIF awards grants to education, livelihood, and public health projects in India – with emphases on elementary education, women’s empowerment, and HIV/AIDS, respectively.
UNDP is the UN’s global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. It is on the ground in 166 countries, working with people on their own solutions to global and national development challenges.
National Institute for Smart Government (NISG)
NISG, Hyderabad is a not-for-profit company incorporated in 2002 with NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Service Companies), Central and State governments being the principal promoters.NISG is being shaped as an institution of excellence in the area of e-Governance with focus on Strategic Planning, developing appropriate architectures and standards, providing high-level consultancy services and capacity building at the national level. NISG is constituted under a Public Private Partnership model. The goal of NISG is to lead the nation to a preeminent position in providing integrated online services to the citizens and businesses.

DIT’s Center for E-Governance(CEG) is involved in various activities such as policy matters relating to IT; Electronics; Internet; IT enabled services; promotion of E-Governance, E-Commerce, E-Medicine, EInfrastructure, etc; Promotion of IT education and IT-based education; Interaction in IT related matters with International agencies and bodies e.g. Internet for Business Limited (IFB), Institute for Education in Information Society (IBI) and International Code Council (ICC); bridging the Digital Divide; Media Lab Asia; Promotion of Standardization; Testing and Quality in IT and standardization of procedure for IT application and Tasks, and so on.
WORLD SUMMIT AWARD
The World Summit ward (WSA) is a global contest for selecting and promoting the world’s best e-content and applications. It sees the bridging of the digital divide and narrowing of the Content Gap as its overall goal and- as of today- involving representatives from 168 countries on each continent. Putting its focus on cultural identy and diversity, the WSA looks for multimedia projects that effectively work with quality contents and digitalise educational, scientific and cultural heritage. It is held in the framework of and in cooperation with the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
Designmate is a 18-year-old 3D animation house. In the last 6 years we have developed an educational product called “Eureka” for K6 to K-12 , covering science and maths subjects. Eureka is an exciting Teaching Aid with hundreds of amazing 3D animations. Rich colourful animations keep the students fully engaged and helps them to learn faster with better retention . Eureka is being used by more than a million students.

The Barefoot College began in 1972 with the conviction that solutions to rural problems lie within the community.
The College addresses problems of drinking water, girl education, health & sanitation, rural unemployment, income generation, electricity and power, as well as social awareness and the conservation of ecological systems in rural communities.
The College benefits the poorest of the poor who have no alternatives. The College encourages practical knowledge and skills rather than paper qualifications through a learning by doing process of education. The College was entirely built by Barefoot Architects. The campus spreads over 80,000 square feet area and consists of residences, a guest house, a library, dining room, meeting halls, an open air theatre, an administrative block, a ten-bed referral base hospital, pathological laboratory, teacher’s training unit, water testing laboratory, a Post Office, STD/ISD call booth, a Craft Shop and Development Centre, an Internet dhaba (cafe), a puppet workshop, an audio visual unit, a screen printing press, a dormitory for residential trainees and a 700,000 litre rainwater harvesting tank. The College is also completely solar-electrified. The College serves a population of over 125,000 people both in immediate as well as distant areas.

Technology For The People (TFTP) is a non- profit organization, aimed at leveraging technology to benefit marginalized and rural
communities. It supports the use of ICT in areas of education, vocational training for adolescents, and economic empowerment of marginalised groups. TFTP’s major focus is education of adolescents between 14-18 years combined with livelihood skill enhancement programs linked to industry.
